Little Black Dress event for education fundraiser is March 26

The American Business Women's Association (ABWA) Sanibel-Captiva Charter Chapter will host its 2nd Annual "Little Black Dress for Education" Fundraising Dinner at the Sundial Resort on March 26, at 6 p.m.

This event supports education through fundraising for scholarships, annual grants, and professional development.

ABWA was founded in 1949 and has grown to over 500,000 members. ABWA's mission is to bring together business women and men of diverse occupations and to provide opportunities to help themselves and others grow personally and professionally through leadership, education, networking support, and national recognition.

The Sanibel-Captiva Charter Chapter began over 35 years ago and has been recognized as a "Best Practices" chapter for several years.

The proceeds raised by the "Little Black Dress for Education" will benefit the ABWA Sanibel-Captiva Charter Chapter Professional Development, Scholarship & Annual Grant Programs. Forty-nine percent (49-percent) of the proceeds fund local scholarships for female students who are attending accredited Florida universities, colleges, or community vocational schools.

The remaining 51-percent of the funds are used for education-based programs, training, national leadership, and regional conferences for our Chapter members.

The success of this event depends on the generosity of businesses and community members. This support allows the organization to continue to touch the lives of many women in our community.

The event will also include a Live and Silent Auction as well as music. The Live Auction will include packages from Congress Jewelers, a Schroon Lake Retreat and our premier auction item, a seven-night Caribbean Cruise for two aboard SEADREAM Yacht Club.

Donated by Debonair Concierge Travel Services, this auction item is valued at $11,800.00 and bidding will start at $6,200.00. Advance bids will be accepted in writing.

Yachting on SEADREAM is different than big ship cruising. Only 112 guests are pampered by 95 crew members with award-winning service and cuisine.

The all ocean view, elegantly appointed staterooms feature the finest Belgian linens, a marble lined bathroom with a multi-jet shower massage, SEADREAM terry robe, slippers, Bvlgari toiletries, a state-of-the-art entertainment center, flat screen TV, DVD, CD player and internet-access.

SEADREAM fares are all- inclusive and includes ocean view staterooms, gourmet meals, wine with lunch and dinner, open bar with selected premium brands, use of water toys from the yachts' marina, mountain bikes, gratuities, iPods, CDs, DVDs and more.

Tickets for the 2nd Annual "Little Black Dress for Education" Fundraising Dinner at the Sundial Resort on March 26, are $75.00 each.

Sponsorships and additional auction donations are now being accepted.
