A fashion show to complement an island businesswoman's group is planned for March 20.

The afternoon event at the B Unique Boutique will showcase the wrapit by Tish line of women's apparel, sold only at the Sanibel shop. Designer Tish Grosek will demonstrate her line, tell her story, of cutting the first designs at her kitchen table.

The Sanibel store's mix of jewelry, women's wear, accessories will also be featured. The store since 2012 has offered items mostly designed or manufactured in the Americas. Refreshments, wine and cheese will be available.

A quarter of the proceeds from sales at the event will benefit the American Business Women's Association-Sanibel Captiva chapter, said Sandra Williams, B Unique Boutique owner and host of the fashion event that runs 3-7 p.m. The event is also a tribute to Theresa Elaine Louwers, a recently deceased islander and shop patron.

The event a B Unique Boutique complements the American Business Women's Association "Little Black Dress for Education" fundraising dinner at the Sundial Resort on March 26. The 6 p.m. event supports education through fundraising for scholarships, annual grants, and professional development.

The Sanibel-Captiva chapter began more than 35 years ago and has been recognized as a "Best Practices" chapter for several years. The proceeds raised by the "Little Black Dress for Education" will benefit island scholarships and annual grants.

Sandra Williams opened her shop in April 2012, focusing on exclusivity: the items she sells are not available in Sanibel or Captiva, mostly purchased from cooperatives in Central/South America and from designers in the U.S., she said. Grosek's wrapit by Tish line is based in Philadelphia, made in America. The line was inspired by an Italian design, she said.

"We are honored to help the ABWA, our customers and Sanibel," Williams said.

Tish Grosek in Sanibel will demonstrate her wrapit line. Attending fashion events exposes her to buyers, allowing for tweaks and sharing, she said.

"And that excites me," she said.

Tickets for the "Little Black Dress for Education" Sundial event on March 26 are $75 each. Sponsorships and additional auction donations are now being accepted. Details available by email ABWASanibelCaptiva@gmail.com or call Myriam Torres at (239) 699-3072.
