A bike and car incident June 4, on Sanibel, has led to charges and a potential civil suit against Michael F. Raab, 64.

Raab, who lives at 551 Hideaway Court on Sanibel, has been charged with careless driving by Sanibel Police, after he allegedly caused bicyclist Steven J. Martin, 53, of Fort Myers to crash, which led to injuries.

The accident report lists charges as driving carelessly and as a hit-and-run and took place on West Gulf Drive.

The wreck caused Martin to suffer both shoulder and neck injuries, with police and an ambulance responding to the call.

A Go-Pro video was taken of the incident by one of Martin's riding friends, showing a Fiat pulling in front of Martin and applying its brakes, which eventually led to the crash. The Fiat is also video-taped leaving the scene.
