Time for a change

November 3, 2016
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

To the editor:

It was amazing to me that Sharon Harrington received 43 percent of the vote in the primary for the Lee County Board of Election Supervisor race. It seems that voters have very short memories considering the way she treated us in the 2012 election.

I spent 6 hours waiting in line after Ms. Harrington thought it would be smart to reduce Sanibel's polling places from 3 with 2 machines each to only 2 places with 1 machine. Many people had to leave and never got a chance to vote. At that time we were calling for her resignation. She was either trying to keep us from voting, or just does not have the skills to run that office.

I just hope the 43 percent who voted for her are new to the area and don't know what happened in 2012.
