Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

Clint Parsons, long time Sanibel resident whose parents were Salvation Army Officers, spent many years volunteering for the Salvation Army. Working his way up from bell ringer, he headed the Sanibel-Captiva Red Kettle campaign for 10 years. Clint was a 34 year Sales Rep. in Chicago for Jostens, supplier of class rings, school products and Super Bowl Rings. His competiveness led to a love of sports. He was a long-time season ticket holder of the Chicago Bears. He was an avid tennis player. A scholarship paid his way to Butler University where he played as #1 on the tennis team. He was accepted into the Marine Officer Training School proudly playing on the All Marine Tennis Team. His love of the game followed him to Chicago, Wisconsin, and Sanibel with team play, tournaments and many new friends. He loved to sing both in the Sanibel Community Chorus and the Sanibel Community Church choir. He also served SCC for many years as Head Usher. He was a long-time member of the San/Cap Lion's club receiving the Melvin Jones Fellow award as Chaplain and other areas of service.

Clint is survived by his loving wife Sally of 50 years, his son James Parsons, and daughter Kimberly Michaels.

A Memorial Service will be held November 11, 11AM, at the Sanibel Community Church.
