Island Inn Road reopens to pedestrian, bicycle traffic

January 19, 2018
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

The city of Sanibel announced today that that the stretch of Island Inn Road immediately west of Tarpon Bay Road has been reopened for pedestrian and bicycle use only.

Motorized vehicle traffic, however, remains prohibited.

Officials reported that the stretch of road has been closed to public travel since September due to it operating as a disaster debris management site for the city's recovery efforts following Hurricane Irma.

For questions, contact the Sanibel Public Works at 239-472-6397 or sanpw@mysanibel.com.
