ClamJam: Seafood and music festival this weekend in Cape

ClamJam of Southwest Florida will bring seafood lovers to the German-American Club in Cape Coral this weekend. Hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday.

"There will be plenty of arts and crafts, over 90 vendors, seminars and special attractions," event coordinator Pat Burman said. "We will also have lots of food, beverages and, of course, fresh clams. We also have a Kid's area with rides and games."

Foods will include professionally made clam chowders; specially created dishes with top neck, middle neck, little neck, steamers & Venus clams. Eat them at the event or buy them by the dozen or pound, on ice, and take them home for later.

Other great foods will be available for those who don't, or can't, eat seafood including hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, barbecued goat meat and barbecued chicken and ribs.

There will be two full days of live entertainment, fishing seminars and cooking demonstrations.

Music will be provided by some of southwest Florida's hottest bands: on Saturday Strange Arrangement, Ayla Lynn, Josh Rowand & Pitbull of Blues, Jason Bonham, Rev Barry and Funktastic Soul and 24 Carat Band. On Sunday: Strange Arrangement, Ayla Lynn, Brother Love Three, Jason Bonham and Hatley Band.

Fishing and boating Seminars by Captain Terry Fisher at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Cooking demonstrations and the professional chef cook off contest starts at 3 p.m. both days with a seafood cooking demonstration by Chef Warren on Sunday. Drinks by Spence both days Center Bar in Court Yard.

Advance tickets are $8 ($10 at the gate). Children 12 and under are free; free onsite parking.

Tickets are available at the Greater Pine Island Chamber of Commerce on Pine Island Road and Ad&PrintCraft in Bokeelia. Look for your $2 off discount in ads being placed in The Breeze and other Breeze newspapers on Pine Island, Sanibel, Lehigh Acres, North Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach.

The German-American Club is at 2101 Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.
