Family Storytime

ThinkTank

The ThinkTank will be offered from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the east end of the Sanibel Public Library, at 770 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Come play on the interactive floor as the MagixBox projects from the ceiling to the floor. Squish mosquitoes, splat eggs or make a trail of stars in some of the ever-changing activities. Caloosahatchee Oxbow Cruise

The Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation will host a Caloosahatchee Oxbow Cruise from 1 to 3:30 p.m. The guided trip provides an opportunity to gain a perspective on the river, its history, folklore, issues and solutions as participants explore the historic upriver Caloosahatchee. Follow it back to a time when a waterfall served as the headwaters of the Caloosahatchee and settlers braved living amongst the wilderness. Making the Land Work

A walking tour of the Bailey Homestead Preserve from 2 to 3 p.m. that blends the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation's work on the historic property, history of the land and stories about the Bailey family, which farmed it for three generations. Program includes a look at the demonstration gardens at the Native Landscapes & Garden Center, windmill, pavilion, Devitt Pond overlook and entrance to the Bailey family home. Suggested donation of $5; walking shoes recommended. Meet at the Conservation Gateway Kiosk at the head of Shipley Trail, at 1300 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel. Monday Night Film

Holiday Shopping Night

The J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge will hold its sixth annual Holiday Shopping Night from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Refuge Nature Store at the Visitor & Education Center, at 1 Wildlife Drive, Sanibel. The 2020 Luc Century ornament will officially go on sale, and the store has stocked other holiday items for the event. It will have gift consultants ready with suggestions and free gift-wrapping with recycled paper. Shoppers who spend more than $20 receive a free gift.
